Hisense Fridge Faults — diagnosed.
Sixteen of the most common Hisense refrigeration faults, each with its likely causes, quick self-checks, and clear guidance on when to call our East Rand technicians.
Not Cooling
A Hisense fridge that stops cooling while the freezer still works usually has an air-flow, defrost or fan fault rather than a dead appliance. We trace the failed stage and restore cold air circulation.
Not Freezing
A freezer that won't reach -18C is a stock-loss risk. The cause is usually a refrigerant leak, a defrost failure or a compressor not pumping — all of which we diagnose on-site.
Warm Refrigerator
A warm refrigerator compartment often shares a cooling loop with a still-working freezer, so the fault lies in circulation or defrost — not the compressor itself.
Warm Freezer
A warming freezer is treated as urgent. We arrive with gauges to test refrigerant pressure, the defrost cycle and compressor pumping to stop stock loss.
Ice Maker Not Working
An ice maker that stops producing usually has a water-supply, heater or sensor fault. We isolate the failed stage rather than replacing the whole assembly.
Water Dispenser Not Working
No water from the dispenser is usually the inlet valve, a blocked filter or a frozen reservoir. We test each stage and restore flow in one visit.
Leaking Water
Water under or inside a Hisense fridge is most often a blocked defrost drain, a perished water line or a leaking inlet valve. We find the source and seal it.
Ice Build-Up
Recurring ice on the back wall or evaporator means the defrost cycle has failed. We repair the heater, bimetal and sensor and clear the drain to stop it returning.
Excessive Frost
Excessive frost is caused by warm moist air entering through a failed seal or a defrost cycle that never runs. We fix both to keep the freezer frost-free.
Fan Not Working
A failed fan stops cold air circulating (evaporator) or cools the compressor poorly (condenser). We replace the motor and blade to restore airflow.
Compressor Not Starting
A compressor that won't start often has a failed start relay — far cheaper than a new compressor. We test the relay, capacitor and overload before recommending replacement.
Running Continuously
A fridge that never stops usually has a defrost fault, a leaking door seal or a thermostat reading too warm — we find why the compressor never rests.
Making Noise
Different noises point to different faults: grinding is usually a fan, clicking a start relay, rattling a loose component. We match the sound to the part.
Door Not Sealing
A door that won't seal lets warm moist air in, causing cooling loss, frost and high running costs. We fit a matched replacement gasket and realign the hinges.
Temperature Problems
Fluctuating or wrong temperatures usually mean a sensor, thermostat or defrost fault. We calibrate or replace the failing part to hold the set temperature.
Display Problems
A blank, flashing or error-code display can mean a control board, sensor or panel fault. We read the code, test the board and restore the display.
